Our 2nd Anniversary

We celebrated our 2nd anniversary
on the 29th.  It was a wonderful day.

We woke up and ate
some homemade cinnamon rolls
on our cute pumpkin plates
(Thank you Grandma Peg).

We decided to keep with tradition
on our gift giving - so the 2nd anniversary
traditional gift is cotton.

Eric got me a beautiful tablecloth
for our new kitchen table,
with matching napkins
and pretty silver napkin rings.

I got Eric an embroidered
golf towel and a CU mascot
golf club cover.

We got all dressed up
and went out to dinner
at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse
in Salt Lake City.

Every year, we will take a picture
holding the picture we took the last
year on our anniversary...
it's going to be neat.

Our table had rose petals on it
We got home and put on our
comfy clothes to toast to
another wonderful year of
marriage (even if we were only
together for half of it).

My parents sent a bottle
of champagne home with me
for the occasion and we used
our fancy wedding champagne flutes.

We sat down and watched
our wedding film with our
champagne.  I am so glad
we decided to have our
wedding filmed.
What a fantastic day
that was.

It was wonderful to
have Eric home for our anniversary.
We enjoyed our day together
and look forward to
many many many more.

Homecoming

He's home!
The day we had been waiting
for finally came!

Some wonderful friends came to
the airport to help me welcome him home.
(Thank you Kristin for taking pictures of
this special moment)

Coming down the escalator...

Thank you family and friends
for your prayers, love and support.
We are so glad to have this
deployment behind us!

House Updates!

I have been a busy girl for the past
two weeks - lots to do to get the house
ready.  But I'm happy to say that it is finished!

Let me take you on a tour...
(I have posted before and after photos)

The Kitchen Before:

The New and Improved Kitchen:

I LOVE my new kitchen table and hutch!
The table has a leaf that makes it
oblong to seat more people!

The Random Hallway Before:

The Random Hallway Becomes a Study:

This space makes so much more sense as
a study.  I love the way it turned out!

The Study/Music Room Before:

The Study/Music Room Becomes a Guest Room:

This room is very special.  This furniture belonged
to my great grandparents, Granny and Papa Boone.
My Mimi and Pa got the furniture from them
many years ago.  It's still hard to believe that
their furniture is in my house -
it's a bit emotional.  But it's special.

Guest Bathroom:

So, I don't have pictures of the
guest bathroom before - it was all red.
I've had my eye on this shower curtain for
quite some time.  We actually had it
on our wedding registry - but didn't get it
at that time.  The pictures came from Mimi
and Pa's house.

Well, there are a few other small updates
around the house, but I guess you'll
just have to come visit to see those!

Smash the Cakes?

They were a little hesitant about
smashing the cupcakes - so their daddy helped.
I don't think they liked that much either...

...But here is the sweet little Tilley Family.
