My mom and grandma's visit, continued:
The rest of their visit,
we did a few things around the house.
We all love decorating
and making small improvements
here and there.
We decided to raise the curtains in the master bedroom. It made the ceilings look taller which made the room look bigger. |
Lots of measuring and thinking |
Before.... |
....and After: The final product. |
Our beautiful new clock that matches perfectly! |
I love our bedroom! It is beautiful! |
I also got new towels for our bathroom! |
We have been wanting blinds in our garage for a while. |
We didn't realize how difficult it would be... (pictured: my mom on the phone with my brother - learning all about power tools) |
Oliver came out to help us |
We ended up needing a little assistance. We couldn't get the screws all the way into the wall. A friend of ours came over to save the day. Thanks Rob! |
Beautiful! |
Our new blinds from the outside of our house |
A little crafting project for the kitchen table |
It turned out great! |
And my new chicken looks great on it! |
We also ironed the curtains in the kitchen. Don't they look amazing! |
The trim on the black frames used to be gold But my bathroom is silver and black, so we rubbed silver onto the frames. Now they match! |
In our study/music room, new wall art. |
In the study/music room, I changed the curtains and we ironed these as well. |
I hung up pictures on the wall in the guest room. We ironed the curtains in this room also |
I put up a shade and a valance in the guest room |
Guest Room |
I also organized the closet in the study/music room |
And I organized in the guest room closet as well |
We got a great deal accomplished!
And we had fun doing it!
Taylor, I just discovered your blog. Thanks so much for sharing. I love all your stories and pictures, and especially love seeing your Mom and Mimi's visit. These photos of the "crafting" projects brought back warm memories of being at Aunt Gladys's (your great Granny). She was always sewing for the girls. While she (or she and Patsy) worked on projects, we girls would play all day long:-) Also, Your home is so beautiful, inviting, and warm. Happy to "see" you and Eric enjoying life together.
