Christmas in Greeley

Merry Christmas
from the Underwoods!

Our first Christmas tree

We drove to Colorado Springs
to meet up with some friends.
We went to lunch and then to
the Colorado Springs Christmas
Symphony.  Then we went to
the Broadmoor hotel
to see the Christmas lights.
After that, we went to dinner
at Cheddars, which is a favorite
of mine that we don't have in Utah.

Christmas with Eric's family
in Greeley was a lot of fun...

On Christmas Eve, we had a
delicious feast of Cranberry Chicken.
On Christmas day, we woke up,
ate breakfast and opened presents.
After that, we went to the movie
theater to see Les Miserables, which
was INCREDIBLE!  Go see it!

For dinner on Christmas day,
we had ham with mashed potatoes,
bread and macaroni and cheese.
For those of you that don't know,
Macaroni and Cheese is a traditional
Thanksgiving and Christmas side dish
for our family.  My cousin Lauren
and I make it every year!

Here we are opening our Christmas gifts!

All 3 dogs - I made them all matching Santa bandanas.

The Underwood Family!

We all had a great Christmas!
We hope you did as well!

Picasso and Wine

Ronda took me to paint
at Picasso and Wine during
our Christmas visit to Colorado.
If you ever have an opportunity
to visit this establishment, you
should!

 In a room full of
about 24 other people, you are
instructed on how to paint
one specific painting.
Everyone's comes out a little
different, but with the same
general idea.  It's pretty incredible!

Starting with a blank canvas

The shapes we were instructed to draw that
eventually turn into a bird

In case you didn't hear me
shouting from the mountaintop
on December 20th - I'll shout it again!

I'M AN AUNT!

Natalie Champagne Hayhurst
was born on December 20th at 6:04 PM.
She weighed 7.8 pounds and her length
was 19.5 inches.  She's perfect.

Skiing at Snowbasin

Today, I went skiing
for the first time in 10 years.
I'm happy to report that I
picked it back up pretty quickly.

Snowbasin has some beautiful lodges.

I'm looking forward to getting back
out there again soon!  I had fun
skiing with Eric - I didn't slow
him down too much.

Christmas in Downtown Salt Lake City

We went into downtown
Salt Lake City last night
to see the Christmas Lights
and eat dinner.  We never
got around to going down
there to see the lights last year.

We visited Temple Square
and City Creek Center (a
new-ish outdoor/indoor shopping
area right by Temple Square).

Christmas music played and the fountain spouted accordingly...
Seeing all of the lights really
put us in the Christmas spirit!
Now, if only it will snow.
(It's supposed to snow today...
we'll see.)
