March

I can't believe April is almost here.
This year is flying by.
We have had a lot of fun this month though!

Here are some pictures of some March happenings.

My cousin Lauren is pregnant with twins!
(Twins run in our family, which is fun!)
I am so very excited about this!
She and her husband have been wanting kids
for a while now.  This is an answer to prayers!
A double answer.  Haha.
She's due at the end of October.

This was the first picture of the babies.

One of our good friends (that Eric works with)
turned 29, so we hosted his birthday party.
We made mini pizzas and ate birthday cake.
Then we played Cranium, which was a blast.

Eric, lighting the birthday candles!

Rob - the birthday boy - blowing out the candles

Opening gifts - he got some bullets!

Sarah and Ryan

Playing Cranium - Ryan had to act something out

Playing Cranium - Eric had to draw something with his eyes shut

I was so excited when I found out the
Oklahoma City Thunder
were coming to Utah to play the Utah Jazz.
Eric got us tickets and we made a fun evening of it!
We ate at one of my favorite places before the game.
It's in downtown Salt Lake City, so I don't
get to visit as much as I'd like,
 but Benihana is amazing.
I love Japanese Steakhouses.
They are my favorite.
(Even though, as Eric reminds me,
they do the same tricks each time...
egg roll - as they roll an egg on the table...
the volcano of onion slices...
butterfly - as they toss butter up in the air.)
Hahaha - love it.

Thunder/Jazz Game

I wore my Thunder shirt - there were actually a few other fans!
But definitely more Jazz fans.

There's nothing like an evening
on the mini golf course...
Now that the weather is getting nice,
we get to do more things outside.

Mini Golf at Boondocks

Eric had to rescue my golf ball from the pond - good thing it was empty.

Spring has sprung! I got to plant some flowers!

Our front porch

Eric trimmed the bushes and I put down some mulch - it looks so much better!

I don't have any pictures of us
actually climbing,
but Eric and I have been climbing at the
gym on base.  We got certified after taking
a training course.  Climbing has been a bit
of a stretch for me, because the wall goes up
pretty high.  I almost made it to the top last week.
I'm sure I'll make it to the top at some point.

This is less than half of the rock wall.
I couldn't get the whole thing in the picture.

I start a photography class Saturday. The base
arts and crafts department is offering it.
It's a four week class.
We will meet on Saturdays for 2 hours
and the final class is a field trip
to Park City to try out our new skills.
I'm pretty excited to learn more about
my fancy camera.  It can do
so much more than I am currently
capable of making it do.

Our sweet little Oliver is doing well.  He's so smart.

He got a new "House".  My mom sent this to us, since she
doesn't use it for her dogs anymore.
It matches our living room decor.

Eric and I are finally getting plugged in
at church!  We went to our first worship team
practice last Tuesday and had so much fun!
We are excited to use the gifts God has given us.

I'm starting voice lessons up again,
which is so very exciting!
It took me a while to find a
voice teacher in our part of town.
My first lesson is next week.
I love taking voice lessons
because it stretches me and challenges me.
I get to sing broadway style music
and opera.  It's so much fun!

March has been a great month!
I'm loving this Spring weather
and looking forward to the coming months!

St. Patrick's Day - Olympic Park

I baked cookies for Eric's Office.

The Devil's Slide

Devil's Slide is an unusual geological
 formation located in northern Utah.
The slide consists of two parallel limestone
strata that have been tilted to lie vertical,
protruding 40 feet (12 m) out of the mountainside.
Intervening layers have eroded more quickly,
forming a channel some 25 feet (7.6 m)
wide running hundreds of feet down the mountain.

Cradled by the Wasatch Mountains, the 389-acre Utah Olympic Park venue is home to six Nordic Ski Jumps (K10, K20, K40, K64, K90, K120 meter), a 1,335-meter sliding track with five start areas, a freestyle aerials winter training and competition hill, a 750,000-gallon summer freestyle aerial training pool, the Joe Quinney Winter Sports Center, Alf Engen Ski Museum and Eccles 2002 Winter Olympic Games Museum.
The Utah Olympic Park is a winter sports venue built for the 2002 Winter Olympic Games, and is located 28 miles east of Salt Lake City in Park City, Utah. During the 2002 games the park hosted bobsleigh, skeleton, Luge, Nordic ski jumping, and Nordic combined events. It still serves a training center for Olympic and development level athletes and is a popular destination for tourist.

In 2002, Utah hosted the world for the XIX Olympic Winter Games and the VIII Paralympic Winter Games. And by any measure, the 2002 Games were a success.
2500 Olympians representing 77 nations came to Utah to pursue their Olympic dreams. Incredible venues and ideal weather combined to create the perfect stage for the athletes to perform at their best.
The largest crowds ever for an Olympic Winter Games (a record that still holds today) filled the venues and cheered for every athlete, in every sport, from every country. And away from the venues, the partying and celebrating carried on well into the night.
The US Team won 34 medals at the 2002 Games, shattering their old record of 13. And athletes like Chris Klug, Derek Parra, Sarah Hughes, Jim Shea, Ole Einar Bjoerndalen and Vonetta Flowers all made history in their own special way, reminding the world of what the Olympic Games are really about -- sports.
