TDY in Fort Walton Beach - Weekend in Paradise

Well, we made it through our first week in Fort Walton Beach.  The weather has been pretty crazy.  We started the week off at about 40 and jumped into the low 70's by Saturday.  It's rainy and windy again today, as we begin our final week at the beach.

Saturday, we played miniature golf at the Lost Lagoon Adventure Golf Course.  Eric beat me by a few points, but I plan to take my revenge later on this week.  I'll keep you posted.

The sunset was gorgeous!  It was probably one of the best ones we've seen out here so far.

After we played golf, we drove back to our hotel and decided to walk the beach to get to Anglers Beachside Sports Bar & Grill.  It was a little over a mile.  We arrived just in time to catch the end of the LSU game.  There was a nice group of people dressed in Sooner gear at the restaurant.  No one from OSU was there to represent, and I'm thankful, after the embarrassing loss we suffered.  We had a good time though, eating popcorn and burgers and chicken tenders.  Eric's classmate, Art, joined us as well.  We even got a couple of OU souvenir cups to take home with us!

On Sunday, we drove to the The Destin Commons and finished up our Christmas shopping.  It's kind of strange to see a Christmas tree next to palm trees.

After we went shopping, we decided to drive the mid-bay bridge

Sunday evening, we met up with John and his wife Winda (friends of Erics from Montana) for dinner at Harry T's at the Harborwalk Village in Destin.  It was so much fun and the food was fantastic!

We had a great weekend.  I finally feel like it's Christmas time, thanks to the Christmas shopping and the Christmas lights boat parade.  I'm really enjoying Destin.

Honeymoon in Mexico

We had an amazing time on our honeymoon!
As most of you know, the destination was a total surprise to me.
Eric surprised me by taking me to Riviera Maya Mexico.
We got to snorkel and go zip-lining.
We also swam in some underwater caves.  It was incredible.

My favorite day was the day we spent at Xplor.  Xplor is an amazing water park.
Everything is mostly underground.  Here we got to kayak, swim in caves, zip-line, and drive four wheelers.
I would recommend Xplor to anyone who plans to be in this part of Mexico.

We were reminded to watch our steps quite frequently, haha - it became a joke.
